The Hampton Academy Christmas Card Competition 2010

This year there were a record number of entries! Dr. Demont had to plough through over 300 different designs before arriving at a shortlist of eleven - and then it got REALLY tough. Finally, after much deliberation and discussion with art professional Ms. Graham, a decision was reached.

And the winner is... ABIGAIL BAKER 9WP! Abigail´s stunning design truly represented this year´s theme ‘Joy to the World´. The first two cards displaying Abigail´s design will go to the Right Honourable Vince Cable MP & Cabinet Minister; and to Lord Hill of Oareford who opened Hampton Academy in November.

The runner up, whose artwork showed a skill and maturity well beyond her years was VICKY BURN of 7CO. Vicky´s card, designed specially to appeal to children, will be sent out to all our local primary and nursery schools.

The following students´ entries were highly commended: Fahima Noor 8CN; Xheni Suqi 8CN; Joanne Wade 9CC; Lydia Bagley 8WM, with honourable mentions going to: Kirhira Brown 9CN; Hazel Flatley 9CO; Melanie Cox 8CC; Pollyanna Jenkins 9CO; Jack Cramp 8CD.

Well done and thank you to all the hundreds of students who submitted entries.
