Students collaborate ideas across academies

Last Thursday Hampton Academy´s School Council representatives Harry Bajwa (Year 7), Susie Burley, Georgia Willis, Sophie Berry (Year 8) and Tristan van Rhyn (Year 10) travelled to the Commonwealth Club in London to meet their counterparts from Twickenham and Ipswich academies in the UK and Nykoping, Norrkoping and Lund schools in Sweden.

They worked closely with the students from Lund to think about ways of introducing a sustainable exchange model between the two schools, which will involve trips to Sweden sponsored by local companies and the establishment of penpal links. The students are now working on a Project Plan that they hope to present to Dr Demont and the rest of the Student Council soon.

Everyone was exhausted at the end of a very intense and inspirational day, but took comfort in the knowledge that real discussions with realistic outcomes had taken place and new friendships with Swedish students had been formed.
