Red Nose Day offered all our students and staff a variety of ways to have fun and raise money for the Comic Relief charity. One of the options was to bake Red Nosed Fairy Cakes after school on the eve of Red Nose Day. In conjunction with the Let's Get Cooking! cookery club 14 willing volunteers and 5 members of staff duly weighed, mixed, baked and decorated nearly 200 fancy fairy cakes to sell to students and 7 amazing Victoria sponge cakes to sell to staff at break time on Friday.
The Red Nosed Fairies sold incredibly fast and many students were disappointed to have missed out on a tasty treat. In the canteen the sale of the cakes raised over £60 and in the staffroom well over £100 was kindly donated by the staff for a slice or two of sponge cake.
Many thanks to all students and staff for their time and hard work making this venture a huge success.
