Maths Week28th November - 2nd December![]() We are delighted to announce the launch of Hampton Academy's inaugural Maths Week. During this week students in Years 7-11 will be invited to participate in a range of events aimed at enhancing their understanding and enjoyment of mathematics. The events on offer outside of lessons include: Monday:Number DayAll staff will be wearing numbers and students have to collect these and then perform calculations with the names of staff members. Top prize for the winning number of points. Tuesday:Maths in FashionYear 10 girls will be shown the importance and role maths has in the fashion industry. Puzzle DayDuring Maths lessons students will be solving problems and puzzles. Tower Building ContestAt lunchtime teams will be competing to build the tallest and strongest towers out of just newspaper and sellotape. Top prize for the winning team supported by Sainsbury's supermarket. ![]() Thursday:Maths BeeAt lunchtime staff will be competing in Maths Bee to see who can calculate the quickest. Friday:NSPCC World Record AttemptYear 7 students will be taking part in a world record attempt for the largest maths lesson in multiple locations. Students will be collecting sponsorship for the NSPCC. ![]() |
