In true LST fashion (ask your year 7 children!) the Spring Term at Hampton Academy kicked off with an impact session delivered by internationally renowned educationist Sir John Jones. The entire staffs of Buckingham School, Carlisle Infants, Hampton Infants, Hampton Juniors, Clarendon and Hampton Hill juniors joined Hampton Academy teachers and support staff for an inspirational three hour presentation by Sir John, who last visited Hampton in 2008.Chief among the thought-provoking messages of the day was that we should never forget the very special power of teaching and the lasting impression we can have on the lives of our pupils — the best teachers are truly ‘magic-weavers´ who can change children´s lives regardless of their backgrounds or starting points.
Following Sir John´s session the staffs sat down together for a communal lunch to discuss the morning, served in style by our ace catering team ‘Wendy and the Girls´. Compliments flowed both for the cooking and the presentation — we wish our dining hall could be decorated like that every day! A big thank you to Wendy´s daughter for laying out all those tables.
