Welcome to the HAA page of the website

All parents of students who attend Hampton Academy are automatically members of the Association and they are invited, along with representatives of the Academy´s Senior Leadership Team, to attend meetings and take part in our events.

 
Our aim is to raise funds to provide the Academy with ‘extras´ such as science equipment, software, a digital video camera, books and prizes for students on completing Key Stage 4 and contributions toward a document projector (£300), £600 for the Year 12 Celebration, foreign language dictionaries (£100), £500 to the Technology Programme and £400 towards PCs for students accross the academy.  

 

Practical Support


We also offer practical support, such as refreshments for staff and visitors at Academy events, e.g.  performances by students.

 
In order to co-ordinate our activities (and because we are registered with the Charities Commission) we have a small Committee, but intend to function in as informal a way as possible.  We plan to have only one meeting a term, at which we will liaise with the senior staff over dates of functions and requests for funds from different parts of the Academy.  We warmly welcome anyone who is interested in helping with planning, as well as those who have no desire or are unable to come to even informal meetings but are willing to help with events or refreshments on the day or evening.  This role is very much appreciated by the Academy, and without volunteers, it can´t continue.

 
Our termly meetings will also be an opportunity to supplement the Parents´ Council meetings, by providing an informal opportunity to hear up-to-date news of what is going on within the Academy from a senior staff member (usually the Principal or Vice-Principal).

Quiz Night in the Spring Term


Our main fundraising event this year will be the Quiz, which will take place in the Spring Term.  This always proves a popular and fun evening for parents, staff and all-comers!

We will also be selling Christmas trees again, and possibly we will have a stall at local events such as the Hampton Carnival.

So please give us your support.  Your child will benefit directly from it. We would love to see you at our meetings, but if you would prefer to just help on the odd occasion, please let us know your details (see contact at the top of the page).    If you have any ideas for events, we welcome all suggestions.
