All Year 10 and 11 GCSE German students and our dual linguists in year 9 were given this fantastic opportunity to raise the standard of their spoken German through the medium of performance. The very entertaining performance entitled “Dies ist für dich" gave the audience the opportunity to interact with the actors from the very start; in fact, six students were on stage all the time as part of the cast. This really put our students´ language skills to the test.

The classes involved were given a booklet on the production (produced in house) and had the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the story and the vocabulary used in the performance during lessons beforehand.

This has been another successful example of how the academy specialism can help raise our students´ achievement overall.
