GCSE Poetry Live - February 4th

For the second year running, Hampton Academy has organised a literary event for year 11 students.

The popular event, called ‘Poetry Live´, gives students an opportunity to meet the poets they have been studying for their GCSE English and literature exam. Poet laureate Carol Ann Duffy will be amongst the poets there and students will get the chance to ask the poets questions about the poems they have been studying and what inspired them. They will also get to meet the chief examiner who will be there imparting tips and advice about the English exam papers.

Students will be setting off by coach period one, and arriving at the venue in central London, where they will be joined by 2,000 students from other schools in and outside of London.

Some of last year´s students said it was one of the best day´s out they´d ever had so here´s hoping this one is enjoyed just as much as last year´s!

All students must remember to bring their poetry anthologies so they can annotate them on the day.
