Dramatic Edge´s Secondary Drama festival

On Friday 18th March, Richmond Theatre hosted Dramatic Edge´s Secondary Drama festival. Seven secondary schools,  from across the borough took part, giving 48 students the chance to perform in front of a large audience of parents and friends. Amongst those enjoying the festival was Ian Dodds, Richmond Borough's Head of Culture.

Well done to all the schools who took part in a very successful event: Christ's School, Hampton Academy, Greycourt, Teddington School, Richmond Park Academy, Orleans Park School and Strathmore School.

Daniela, Laura, Rasna, Nicola and Karolina from Hampton Academy performed a piece called Kindertransport, this is part of their GCSE piece.

Mr Richard Weeks from Teddington school said:

'To round the week off I went along to Richmond Theatre on Friday afternoon where Ms. Cooper had spent the day with a group of yr8 students who were representing Teddington in the annual “Dramatic Edge" event. Groups of students from all Richmond Secondary Schools had the wonderful experience of performing in front of a live audience on the stage of this beautiful theatre. Their performance was excellent — assured, skillful, interesting and humorous, and once again, I felt justifiably proud of them all.'
