a Christmas Tale...with a Selfish Ogre!

Stanley the Ogre

Year 8 and 9 Drama Club performed their annual Christmas performance for this year which was called ‘Stanley the Selfish Ogre´. Twenty-seven students from Years 8 and 9 were involved in this piece of devised theatre that was based on Oscar Wilde's well known story ‘The Selfish Giant´.

Drama club for Year 8 and 9 students meets every Wednesday after school and they were working on this piece for 5 weeks. Drama club students learn many theatre and performance skills, particularly the use of Masks and Physical theatre in this piece. Drama club focuses on the aspect of ensemble work and the importance of creating theatre that is 'inclusive' for all.
