Up, up and away at HA! The Step 1 English Launch

Year 7 students in Conrad College enjoyed a different learning experience today in their launch session to celebrate the start of the English & Media Steps curriculum.

Mr. Cheesebrough and the Conrad English team were joined by ‘Big´ Bob Buchannan, a Texan Millionaire who looks very similar to Mr. Scruby! Students were told about ‘Big´ Bob´s Balloon Company and discovered they would have the chance to plan a trip on a hot air balloon to a destination of their choice.

Students questioned travel agents from France, Mongolia and Iceland as well as new Orleans and 'Big' Bob's home state of Texas. They interview each agent and gathered details to help them make a decision about where they wished to visit.

At Hampton Academy students enjoy launch sessions at the beginning of steps and thematic courses to help them engage with the new topic. Wordsworth College students will be enjoying their launch session tomorrow.
