What a glorious day Hampton Academy held on Monday 14th March 2011 for the talented students in Year 8 from the schools in the Hampton Independent State School Partnership. The day consisted of seven schools* in total all collaborating and learning the technical skills that make up a genre of acting titled Physical Theatre. The day saw students mix from different schools and build friendships both personal and educational. Every student was willing, open and very enthusiastic to get stuck into a fun filled day of team building, extremely focused creative learning, and engaged physicalising of text.
The students were obviously chosen because of their individual talents, however the workshop Leader, Andy Brunswick, commented that he was astounded by their attentive minds and astute analytical responses to his exercises and workshopping ideas. He furthered this by saying that there were most certainly a few stars of the future in the room!
What an excellent response to a great day of hard work and a lot of further learning fun! A huge well done and congratulations to all those who took part in making the day such a successful one.
Now the bridge of cohesive further learning between our sister schools is well underway, lets most definitely walk it again in the very near future.

*The seven schools who attended are Hampton School, Lady Eleanor Holles, Teddington School, Orleans Park, Tolworth Girls, Hollyfield School and of course Hampton Academy; and I would say by the look on each students face at the end of the day, it was a day of inspired learning and one well spent.
