On Wednesday 1st December, Hampton Academy hosted Dramatic Edge´s Primary Drama festival. Ten Primary schools, infants and juniors, from across the borough took part, giving 160 children the chance to perform in front of a large audience of parents and friends. Amongst those enjoying the festival was the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Rita Palmer and Ian Dodds, Richmond Borough's Head of Culture.Well done to all the schools who took part in a very successful event: Buckingham Primary School, Holy Trinity Church of England School, Archdeacon Cambridges Church of England School, Heathfield Junior School, St Osmunds Catholic Primary School, Hampton Junior School, Hampton Infants School, Shene Mount Primary School, St Stephen´s Church of England School and Meadlands Primary School.
Shene Mount Primary School teacher, Ellie Swain said:
"Our school enjoyed the shared experience. My children loved working on our piece with Rod and I and having the opportunity to perform it on a proper stage. They equally relished the chance to see the other nine schools and soak up the atmosphere of live theatre in action. Thank you so much to Hampton Academy for making it such a memorable and rewarding day"
